Where I stayed
Today we went to Devils Tower just outside of Hulett, WY and enjoyed the 1.3 mile hike around the huge Tower. It rises 867 feet from it's base. About 5000 people climb this tower from all of the world each year. We saw about 6 people climbing while we were there.
From there we took the Spearfish Canyon Scenic Byway (Kevin Costner filmed some of Dancing with Wolves in this canyon.
We then headed to Deadwood, SD. Wild Bill Hickock and Clamity Jane were killed here. We didn't get to see Boot Hill as there was a huge car rally in town and I think there were atleast 50,000 people there. We stayed long enough to walk around and look at the old cards and have some lunch. Then we headed to Mt. Rushmore. People have said to us before we came that you would probably be disappointed at the size, but to me it was very impressive and really enjoyed taking it all in. They had a trail called the President's Trail and you could walk right up under them.
From there we took the Iron Mountain Road (very curvy) and crossed through Custer State Park before heading to Custer for a couple of nights.
Tomorrow will be Wind Cave National Park, Crazy Horse statue being carved out of the side of the mountain and a road called "the needles".

Comments
Chris and I spent the night in Deadwood coming back from our wedding. We enjoyed it but lost some money there playing blackjack. I found Crazy Horse awesome. It was an amazing tribute and really touched me.
