Where I stayed
Today we left Billings, MT and headed East. We wanted to stop at the Little Big Horn Battlefield (Custer's Last Stand) near Hardin, MT. It was a very interesting place and we toured the whole battlefield by car stopping at all the points of interest. (Elaine & Rich, this wasn't like Manassas, VA, I'm sure you remember that). We spent about 2 hours here and learned alot about Custer and the tragedy of that event.
From here we were headed towards Devils Tower in Wyoming. We stopped in a town called Hulett, Wy about 9 miles from Devils Tower. It was as close to a real cowboy town as I've ever seen. Horses up and down the street, corrals to put your horses in while you browsed around. Saloons and a place to eat called the Ponderosa Cafe where I had a bison burger.....my very first!
Tomorrow we head to Devils Tower and Mt. Rushmore and the Black Hills. Plan to stay there a couple of days.
