Where I stayed
Today we left Bozeman, MT and headed to the Northern portion of Yellowstone NP. It was a pleasant ride, but didn't see elk in Mammoth like we did back in 2007. Did see lots of buffalo along the Lamar Valley and lots of fisherman fly fishing in the Lamar River.
Small world note: While we were waiting in traffic for a herd of buffalo crossing the road, George noticed that the vehicle in front of us was from New Hampshire. I got out and asked the fellow where he was from in NH.....he said Tamworth. (For those that don't know, Tamworth is the next town to Freedom). So it is a small world after all!
From Yellowstone we took the Beartooth Scenic Byway (it's supposed to be the most beautiful byway in the U.S.) I have to say it was breathtaking. I drove this byway, which by the way is 10,947 ft. high with so many S curves it was impossible to count. Some of the curves had guardrails and some didn't. It's hard to describe, but it was pretty scary and glad when we got to the bottom.
Arrived in Billings for the night and tomorrow we head to Battle of the Little Bighorn (Custer's Last Stand) and Devils Tower.
