Mis Estimados Compadres,
Amigos y Compaņeros.

I am starting to think about going to Ottawa, Canada..
I think that I prefer San Miguel, Mexico to Ottawa, Canada.
But I have things that I need to do and that I have to do in Ottawa.
So I have to go to Ottawa, whether I like it or not.....
I seem to connect with the people in San Miguel
better than I connect with people in Ottawa...
And there seems to be more things to do in San Miguel
that I am interested in doing, than there is in Ottawa....

Making the transition from San Miguel to Ottawa, and Vice Versa, from Ottawa to San Miguel is always a stressful time for me..What to take and what to leave behind?????? Everytime that I have come to San Miguel, I leave more of my stuff behind in San Miguel, so that there is more and more of my stuff in San Miguel.. I am now renting my place in San Miguel year round, on a yearly lease basis...And there is always other stuff that I have to take care of and deal with when I am leaving one place or the other - San Miguel or Ottawa....
I really like my place in San Miguel...It is a much nicer place than my place in Ottawa..
It has two bedrooms, with a livingroom and a dinningroom, and a terrace off of my bedroom and two small balconies, one off of the livingroom and the other one off of the other bedroom..The glass doors to the terrace and balconies let a lot of natural light in and I often leave all of the these doors open during the day and nite to let the fresh air in..
It includes cablevision, a wireless internet connection, electricity, water and a weekly maid service..
And I really like my Mexican landlord, Julia, who is a University Professor, at the University of Leon campus in San Miguel.  She is really nice.. Note: UNAM, which is the University of Mexico, is going to establish a UNAM Campus in San Miguel..It will only be the second city outside of Mexico City that has an UNAM campus.. .San Miguel is definitely a special city in Mexico.....
My place in San Miguel is in a really perfect location in San Miguel, the Colonia San Antonio, the San Antonio neighbourhood........ I am very lucky to have a place where it is, I could not have picked a better location to live in, in San Miguel....It is about a 10 minute walk to the San Miguel Central Plaza, the Jardin, a 5 minute walk to the San Juan de Dios Mercado, the largest Mexican market area in San Miguel, and a 5 minute walk to San Antonio Ancha (street), which is a street similar to Elgin St. and the market area in Ottawa, with many restaurants, hotels, the Instituto Allende, art school, etc. All of the government buildings and other places that I need to go to, are on my side of San Miguel..
I like my place in Ottawa too. .I like my landlord, Peter McCormick and Pat...They are more than landlords, they are also friends...It also includes cablevision, wireless internet, electricity, phone service, but no maid service (I guess that I cannot have everything, all of the time)..And I really like the location of my place in Ottawa, Greater Vanier.  .It is in easy walking distance to many grocery stores, banks, pharmacies, shopping centres, (3 shopping centres - Montreal Road, Donald Street and the St. Laurent Shopping Centre), the library, the St. Laurent Community Centre, and the no.#12 bus route to downtown Ottawa   ....And of course MacDonald's, Harvey's, Tim Horton's, FarmBoy, Independent, etc..Woooowwwweeeee!!!!! - what a great spot to have my place in Greater Vanier, and I really like Vanier.....
I am simpifying my life - now I do not have a car or a house, and both of my rental places in both Ottawa and San Miguel are completely furnished and both include everything that I need..And in both of my rental places I am dealing with real people, who are also very nice people, not impersonal corporations or corporate entities....
I am one very lucky man - however, they say that people make their luck.- and they may be right...... .
I will probably eventually move to San Miguel permanently, but that will not be for another few years yet......And I think that I will always keep coming back to Ottawa for visits...

My Vanier landlord Peter McCormick and Pat are in Brazil right now. It reminds me of when I had to find someone to chair a Meeting that I chair in San Miguel. The first person that I contacted by email was in Florida, The second person that I contacted by email was in Guadalama, And the third person that I contacted by email was in France, It was only the fourth person that I contacted by email that was actually in San Miguel and could chair the Meeting for me that week. Peter and Pat McCormick being in Brazil reminds me of the international type of people that I seem to be around and involved with now. It sort of makes me feel like I am a citizen of the world... Peter and Pat spend two weeks in Florida this winter...

I guess that I am just counting my blessings and how fortunate and lucky that I am...I am also in good health and in good physical shape and I actually think that I am getting to be healthier and in better physical shape - being outside all year around and walking everywhere all year around has been good for me..  I hope that my gentle readers do not think that I am bragging or a braggard, it is just that I am very pleased with the life that I have...
