Mis Estimados
Compadres, Amigos, Amigas,Compañeros and Compañeras:

I am high in the mountains, in a little city in Central Mexico, San Miguel de Allende...

This morning when I looked out my window (7:00am) there was a very bright blue sky,
with very pink clouds in the sky. The sun was still out of sight behind the mountains....
The pink clouds must be the product of San Miguel de Allende pollution...
But it did look pretty.... So some good does come out pollution - pretty pink clouds..
Taoism says that there is always some good in the bad and always some bad in the good...
SO THERE YOU GO!!!!!

Within 2 or 3 blocks of the Central Plaza (Centro) in San Miguel, there must be at least 20 or 30 banks Bancos)... Why does a poor little city high in the mountains.of Central Mexico need 20 or 30 banks (Bancos) in its Centro????? - and there are another 20 or 30 banks spread around town - there are banks (Bancos) everywhere in San Miguel...

The new Mayor of San Miguel (Dec. 01/2012) is very ambitious - he seems to have his sights set on becoming the president of Mexico some day. He has met US President Obama - he has chaired a conference of Mayors of Mexico in which he seemed to have a major voice....
He owns a local San Miguel TV Station (Channel 03) and he seems to be the main star of that TV Channel - pictures and/or video`s of him are on that Channel over half of the time .Obviously he is not concerned about becoming overexposed. And there is no CRTC in Mexico telling the TV Stations what they can and cannot show - they can show whatever they want. And he is announcing major new initiatives every week... He has started legal proceedings against the previous mayor for the misappropriation of funds - he bills himself as Mr. Clean who is going to see that the law is enforced and followed in San Miguel....
Why would someone who wants to be the President of Mexico start off by being Mayor of San Miguel, a little poor city high in the mountains of Central Mexico.  I have asked those in the know. Because there is a lot, lot, lot of money in San Miguel, it may be little, but it is not poor......
I have been told that San Miguel is an open city - not controlled by any crime family or drug cartel.
It is a neutral city where the crime lords like to come to relax - and to launder their money..
The new mayor fired the head of San Miguel security for not being qualified for the job...
- I wonder about that...
I met a Mexican financial adviser in San Miguel at a party, who was from Guadalajara, and now lives in San Miguel - I asked him why he moved from Guadalajara to San Miguel ....
He said it was because San Miguel was where the money was..
One day, when I was walking down Mugger`s Alley, to the outer world of San Miguel,. it is my usual route that I walk up and down (literally) every day - a man came out of one of the places.. He looked like he was pure evil - the baddest of the bad.......  I could see through the open door into a palatial residence..  He gave me a big smile - I think that he thought that I was one of them,,
That day I was dressed all in black with my hair slicked down - I look different when my hair is slicked down,,   Off course there could have been many different reasons why he was smiling at me  - people often smile at me and I am sure that it is for many different reasons....

Two days later, as I was walking by the same place, there was about 20 or 30 policemen outside of his place...  He was gone,  apparently....I walked a little faster, until I was out of sight of the police.....

San Miguel de Allende may be small but its influence in Mexico
is far greater than its size would indicate.
It was very involved in Mexico's war for Independence - 1810 to 1821 - led by General Allende.
It was very involved in the Mexican Civil War of 1910 to 1921.
It was very involved in the Cristero Wars of 1926 to 1929.
The anti-government forces captured San Miguel in 1927 and hanged all government supporters and suspected government supporters that they could lay their hands on, from the trees and street poles of San Miguel..... It was a form of decorating the city and making a political statement at the same time.... Not everyone liked the way that they had decorated the city with dead bodies of prominent citizens hanging from the trees and street poles......

San Miguel is in the State of Guanajuato - where the previous President, Vince Fox, was from.
The Pope visited Guanajuato in 2012, last year, but not Mexico City.....
The Socialist, who want to destroy the country of Mexico, control Mexico City and the Southern part of Mexico. The Money Men who want to build Mexico up and turn Mexico into an economic power house and make themselves immensely and extremely rich in the process, control Northern Mexico and San Miguel and the State of Guanajuato.....
They are already extremely rich, but the greed of the rich and powerful knows no limits or bounds..
Mexico probably has more millionaires than Canada and Mexico probably has more extremely rich people than Canada - Mexican Billionaire, Carlos Slim, is rumored to be the richest person in the world....

San Miguel de Allende is a very political City....

Stray dogs and Street Dogs.....
When I go out in the morning, I see a dog sleeping by the door of one of the houses that I go by.
And there is a tray of food and a tray of water that has been put out for him...
I suspect that it is a stray dog - referred to in Mexico as "street dogs". Dogs that have no real owner but that people feed and put out water for...And who knows, maybe sometimes some of the people actually end up adopting these dogs and taking them in....It reminds me of my youth, when I was a child. My next door neighbor had a dog, but they did not let it sleep in the their house at night. It had to sleep outside in their yard....They say that Mexico City has 2 million street dogs - Mexicans do not walk their dogs - they just let them run around......

Back to the buses in San Miguel and their bus drivers, who have their kids collecting the bus fare for their bus. One fairly common way of collecting the bus fare is not having to pay it when you get onto the bus. The bus driver's kid goes down the bus aisle later with a pail and the people put the bus fare into the pail. They make change on the San Miguel buses...No bus tickets.....
