- much younger and much more serious
I am leaving for Puerto Vallarta manana (tomorrow) - Diecisiete (17) de Enero, Jueves (Thursday),
por un semana o dos (for a week or two) ... Yo (I) am leaving my coming back to San Miguel date open. What is the whole point of being retired if I start tying myself down with deadlines - I want to keep everything open, and free and easy, and loose and goosey, especially the loose and goosey part....
I have never been to Puerto Vallarta before - this will be my first time (to clarify - it will be my first time going to or being in Puerto Vallarta) - I like first times - first times are fun and exciting.......
It is going to cost me double what I first planned on spending on this trip....
It was like pulling a thread - I originally planned on a cheap, low cost, inexpensive trip to Puerto Vallarta and when I started making my trip arrangements I got on the elevator, or escalator,
and by the time that I had finished making my arrangements - it was no longer a cheap, low cost, inexpensive trip to Puerto Vallarta...
But if I deny myself a few simple pleasures and a little bit of fun and enjoyment
in the last few declining years of my poor life, all I will accomplish is to leave a larger estate
to my FAT CAT children and already spoiled grandchildren, who already have it much too good..
Remember amigos and compadres and my gentle readers - I am a poor, old senior on a fixed income who is just trying to make ends meet...
My financial adviser (that's me) says that my financial planning
should include and involve dying broke and heavily in debt..
I was talking to another poor, old senior here in San Miguel recently.
His children were visiting him here in San Miguel.
His children are in their 60's...
His children asked him repeatedly if he had updated his will recently....
They wanted to know what was the value of his casa (luxury villa) in San Miguel.
He had the feeling that they were slavering over getting their hands on his property and estate.
Eventually he told them that if they mentioned his will again,
he was going to update it and leave them out of it..
He said that seemed to work - they stopped mentioning his updating of his will....
He is an American...
Many poor, old seniors in San Miguel do seem to be concerned about their wills....
There are many different types of people in the world - and I am one of the different ones...
BUT I AM DIGRESSING FROM MY PUERTO VALLARTA STORY
I am going to Puerto Vallarta because there are going to be a lot of people there that I know.
I am going to Puerto Vallarta because I have never been there before.
I am going to Puerto Vallarta because doing things for the first time is a lot of fun and exciting..
And there is a conference there in Puerto Vallarta that I am going to...
It is a S(??) in the Sun Conference...
I will let you guess what the S(?????) stands for - but there is a lot of words that start with S,
And I won't mind a few days in the blazing sun of Puerto Vallarta, the sea, the surf, the sand, etc...
I have friends from San Miguel that will be in Puerto Vallarta (poor old miserable seniors, trying to make ends meet, on a fixed income like me) who plan on tooling (as they refer to it) down the West coast of Mexico, after the S(???) in the Sun Conference, to Melaque/Barri de Navidad, who have invited me to join them...I lived in Melaque/Barri de Navidad for a month in 2007.
I would like to do it, but I cannot do everything, and I want or would like to spend a few days in Puerto Vallarta...... But we will see what we will see and I am going to play it by ear
and one day at a time...What is the point of being retired (not retarded) if I start making commitments all over the place and start tying myself down with deadlines - commitments and deadlines = pressure and stress...and I can do without that..
I want to keep everything open, and free and easy, and loose and goosey,
especially the loose and goosey part........
It is more than a 12 hour bus trip from San Miguel to Puerto Vallarta - leaves San Miguel at 6:00am and gets into Puerto Vallarta about 7:00pm. .so it will be a long day. It goes through Guadalajara. It doesn't look that far on the map. The Guadalajara to Puerto Vallarta leg of the trip is through some very high, rough mountains...The scenery apparently is spectacular. It is probably a little bit like going through the Rocky Mountains from Calgary to Vancouver...I do not know how long that bus trip would take...
I thought about hitch hiking to Puerto Vallarta, it would remind me of my youth. But they say if you are hitch hiking you should be carrying a gun - and I do not have a gun with me,,,,.
I am not taking my laptop computer with me - so I will not be doing any travelogue blogs
while I am gone and away.....Unless, I go into an internet cafe, which are all over the place,
and do some blogging - which I might do.......
