Coming to San Miguel or being in San Miguel stimulates and energizes me....
I am not sure why that is....
It might be the novelty of the situation....

I do find that I have more things to do in San Miguel than I do in Ottawa/Vanier..
More things to do and a wider variety of things to do and more interesting things to do
and things that I am more interested in doing - than I do in Ottawa/Vaner....
Maybe it is just the novelty of the situation - a new and different environment....

It almost seems like I know more people in San Miguel than I do in Ottawa/Vanier..
Maybe if I added up the people that I know in Ottawa/Vanier and the people that I know in San Miguel, there would be more people in Ottawa than in San Miguel that I actually  know - I do not know that for sure - but maybe...
But I do think that there is more people in San Miguel that I am connected to than there is people in Ottawa/Vanier that I am connected to. And the people that I know and am connected to in San Miguel are compressed into a smaller geographic area than the people that I know and am connected to in Ottawa/Vanier, so I see them and run into them away more more often and our paths cross away more often....
It is very rare for me to go out during the day and not run into people that I know...
There is a little bit of a small town atmosphere here.
San Miquel is geographically about the same size as Vanier/Overbrook and New Edinborough in Ottawa and has a population of at least of about 40,000 to 50,000 and maybe much more - the figures vary widely..  .. But the 10,000 or so English speaking people here are like an ethnic minority community in San Miguel, where it is only the people in your own ethnic minority community that matter, and the rest of the people (the Mexicans) are just background..

I have heard French people in Ottawa/Vanier say that when they are speaking English,
they are a different person than when they are speaking French... I have heard French
people say that numerous times over the years - I did live in Montreal for 5 years...
And when I did speak a little French - that was a long time ago and I am not able to speak French anymore - I did not speak enough French to say that I was a different person when I spoke French - I did not think in French - but I did speak enough French, that I could and would say things in French that I would not say in English....

To a certain extent, I am a different person in San Miguel than I am in Ottawa/Vanier..
I dress and look and appear and act the same - but I do different things in San Miguel
than I do in Ottawa and I do them differently.
And I am interested in doing different things in San Miguel
than I am interested in doing in Ottawa/Vanier..
I feel like I am more creative and imaginative in San Miguel than I am in Ottawa/Vanier...
I feel more energetic and more like doing things and getting things done in San Miguel...

Basically I think that I am a very friendly, outgoing type of person
and that type of personality seems to fit in better in San Miguel than Ottawa/Vanier...
I like greeting people on the street that I meet even if I do not know them...
That small town atmosphere.... San Miguel is starting to become very popular with Mexicans too..

My taste in foods and what I eat changes when I come to San Miguel...
I like butter - when I come to San Miguel I do not like butter.
Why do I not like butter in San Miguel...
Butter is butter isn't it?????
I have discovered the reason that I do not like butter in San Miguel...
Canadian butter is salted - Mexican butter is not salted...
There may be other reason also.....

I do not like bread or flour products in San Miguel...
Maybe it is because Canadian bread is made from flour from high quality Canadian wheat,
whereas Mexican flour products are made from a lower quality wheat product...

In Ottawa/Vanier I enjoy going to the movies occasionally - I do not go to the movies in San Miguel because there are too many other things here that I enjoy doing more....

It may just be the novelty of living here in San Miguel that will wear off with time
and my life here will just become routine, like it is in Ottawa/Vanier...

Also, I know from my 6 months experience of living here in San Miguel earlier this year (from December to June/2012)  that there is an initial honeymoon period where I like everyone,
and everyone likes me - but when I left San Miguel in June/2012 to return to Ottawa
- I no longer liked everyone in San Miguel and no longer did everyone in San Miguel liked me
- in some cases, people who did not even know me did not like me.....hard as that may be for some of my very gentle readers to believe...........

I have not finished unpacking yet - a little bit at a time - and I have not put away all of the things where they should be that I have unpacked. I have not got organized yet, because I do not want to spend all of my time getting organized - I would rather spend some of my time doing things that I like doing....so I am still in the process of getting organized and getting settled in..
I do not want to spend all of my time getting organized - I could spend the rest of my life getting organized and still not be completely organized - and that would be a waste of my life in my humble opinion.....

I have to go now because I have other things to do......
