Rolled my car on Texas highway 35, south of San Antonio, near Dilley.
My car was totaled - no broken bones, no serious injuries, lots of bruises, and
"I AM ALL SHUCK UP"

It will probably take me a few days to come up with a new action plan,
pull myself all together and get the show on the road again;
without a car and hopefully with all of my possessions in my wrecked car...

When I complained to the tow tuck driver - he said that I could always replace a car
but that I could never replace a life, or lost arms, lost legs or a head..

My wrecked car is filled with my stuff...
I wonder how much of it is really important..
The money, passport, documentation, credit cards, drivers license, other governmental cards.
It could all be put into one small attache case..

A few items of sentimental value - a black leather hat from Australia that my son gave me, etc..
A few colourful shirts (the Dragon shirt and colourful yellow shirts for the south that I particularly like). Unfortunately I become attached to my possessions and always want to keep everything,
that I have...
Even things of no value.....

A friend of my was undergoing some kind of an assessment
and they were giving him all kinds of tests - one test was to determine
if he was a taker or a giver...
He wanted to know if I was a taker or a giver....
I am not a taker - I do not take from people..
I am not a giver - I do not give to people (although some of my friends
have told me that I am much more of a giver than I give myself credit for)
I am definitely not a taker..
I do not think that I am a giver - but maybe???
So what am I???
I am a keeper - I like to keep what is mine....

Anyway - the show must go on.......

I knew a couple in Ottawa who pulled out of a shopping centre (Shopper's City East) onto the street (Ogilvy St.) without looking and were hit by a truck and killed instantly. One moment of inattention and you are gone FOREVER!!!!  And we cannot all be paying attention all of the time,...

Mexico Dave
Dazed and Bruised
But Still Alive..
Note: writing this travelogue blog acts as a little bit of a rudder for me,
is a little bit of a stabilizer for me and helps to stabilize me....
Just like playing minesweeper on the computer does - but
I am really doing terrible on minesweeper - I am getting blowup everytime...

Glad that you made it out of the rollover alive, Dave! You must have been going slower than 140 kph.

Glad to hear that you are ok. Yes, stuff is easier to replace than your life. Busses and airplanes travel your route home - a replacement car can be found closer to home with time to shop and compare.

Are you sure you're okay? If you rolled and totalled your car and had a concussion would you even know. :-)

Take it easy and be careful getting home!

I would bet it's because you slowed down from 160. There's gotta be a leason there.
