Go with me? Every river city needs a riverboat, and we are blessed with the most charming one on either side of the Mississippi. Our Southern Belle is a lady indeed, graciously welcoming us nearly every day of the year. And she offers a wide enough variety of food, entertainment, and cruise times to please every guest.

Today, for example, we can choose-a-cruise from these four types: narrated sightseeing, buffet luncheon, prime-rib-and-Dixieland dinner, or late-night partytime. The Dixieland music at 7 pm is live; the 11 pm special Atomic Groove Cruise is DJ'ed 60's to 90's tunes -- put on your Boogie Shoes; no rap, guaranteed.

If dancing is your thing, there is partying on the barge-beside-the-boat too; drop in around 9 tonight for riverside rock'n roll and Motown sounds, live from the popular Beaters. A bargain with only a $3 cover.

Perhaps your weekend need is more sedate? Why not indulge with a deluxe continental breakfast cruise; 10 am sharp, Saturdays and Sundays. Take your binoculars and scoot up to the top deck later to watch for herons and listen as the narrator boasts of Chattanooga's charms.

The cruises curve around Moccasin Bend and drift past the city skyline. No better place in the world to enjoy both our water and our mountains. And no day can possibly go wrong once you've been piped to shore by the joyous circus-sounds of a calliope.

So pick a time, pick a day, and get cruising. Maybe you'd like Monday's gospel music and chicken'n dressing or Tuesday evening's Nashville barbecue. Wednesday is family night -- one child free with every adult fare, and a magician to entertain them. History buffs, check into the narrated Civil War cruises; follow the river's role in the Chattanooga battles. See you there.
