Go with me? A January weekend is the perfect time to head for Atlanta. The bustling big city never runs out of entertaining things to do, good weather or bad. This trip we'll aim for the backstage setting at that global phenomenon known as CNN.

CNN Studio Tours start at 9 am every day. The in-depth VIP Tour has fewer people, but the General Tour lets us peep in on everything there is to see.

We'll wander through photos and memorabilia that document the news of the world and the accomplishments of Ted Turner. A film takes us from the initial CNN broadcast June 1, 1980 to its currrent conglomerate status of six networks.

In Special Effects we learn about the gadgets used in the production process such as teleprompters and blue chroma-keys. You didn't really think there were clouds on that weatherboard, did you?

The tour ends in the overlook above the newsroom floor. From there we watch the anchors, producers and writers as they proceed through every step from gathering news to actually broadcasting it.

Now we're at the set of Talk Back Live. If we time it right we can participate in a broadcast. Seating begins about 2:15 for the Monday-Friday show that airs between 3-4 pm. Tickets are complimentary.

Of course we'll interact in the interactive Turner Store. Want to make a video of yourself doing a broadcast? With a food court in the building and the Omni Hotel nearby, there's more than enough to do in a day at Ted's place. See you there.
