No big fees needed at the Powerhouse Fitness Center - there's merely a $.50 user charge each time we visit. We can get a body-fat check for $3, or a personal assessment and customized plan for $14. That's a small price to pay to build up our energy level and start feeling tip-top.
A Fitness Specialist is on hand, though we need to sign up for an appointment. Weight trainers are on duty to help us through our paces too. The Powerhouse has an indoor track, aerobics floor, stationary cycles, stairmasters, weight machines, barbells, and free weights.
And classes! Sign up for Step, AeroStep, or StepMax. Chair Aerobics is geared to the wheelchair bound or those who don't want to include jumping in their routine. Add complexity with LoImpact Beginner, LoImpact, or Hi/Lo aerobics.
New classes this year are the strengthening and conditioning Total Body class, and the "Mid-day Mid-section" class, our alternative to the Reuben Sandwich!
The Chattanooga Parks Department makes it almost impossible for us to excuse ourselves from exercising. In addition to the fine center at Warner Park, they offer classes at the East Gate Senior Center, the John A Patton Center in Tiftonia, the Carver Multi Purpose Center, and very soon, at Hixson Middle School.
Get off that sofa. I'll see you there.
