The well-stocked Welcome Center on Highway U441 has plenty of maps and info to guide you to the incredible variety of designated Wildlife and Scenic Areas, high mountain lakes, hiking trails, waterfalls, and rafting opportunities. Just out from the city are Lakes Burton and Rabun, the Chattahoochee National Forest, and the wild and scenic Chattooga River, and yes, that's where they filmed the movie Deliverance!
Downtown is the Old Clayton Inn, a historic mountain lodge. Newest in town is Stonebrook Inn. The excellent Stockton House Restaurant on Warwoman Road overlooks a beautiful valley and across at Screamer Mountain; it's open daily year round.
