We're half-starved now, and that's the honest truth. Ranching stuff works up an appetite, we agree. We park downtown and walk the sidewalk there. It's started raining now, and gray and cold.

Lots to choose from, there's the Red Caboose and Truby's from yesterday. But, let's try something different, don't you think? So this looks nice, we go inside the Craggy Range, let's wash up first, the bathroom is awesome with a giant long copper sink, we are seated and begin our comments on the decor. Modern western, I guess you'd call it. Upscale ranchy look!

The menu is awesome too, we choose a plate of nachos and Andrew wants grilled cheese, I select a chicken soup.

Our order comes. A lovely pot of macaroni and cheese for Andrew. A Reuben sandwich for me. And the nacho plate is huge. Uh, we'll keep the nachos, but this isn't what we ordered otherwise.

Apologies, the mis-creat food is taken away, we chow down on nachos though, happy as can be.

And then the new food arrives. The most beautiful grilled cheese sandwich I've ever seen is set before Andrew. And here's my chicken soup. Alas, I hadn't read the menu carefully enough. It said Green Chili Chicken Soup. Note that Chili comes before Chicken. It was chili pepper hot, and I had an all-night train ride coming up. I didn't dare to eat it!

My intent was not to say a word, but when she came to bring the check, she noticed my uneaten soup. And took it off the bill!

Oh no, I protested, but she insisted, with a smile.

Will Andrew and I go back to the Craggy Range to eat again? You bet! I may even plan a weekend just for that.

Montana is the FRIENDLIEST place, we both agree.
