You can see the USS Alabama for a good while before you get there. It is big. BIG. We hopped through the ticket office, hurried up the ramp, closing time was coming on. Now, why didn't I think of this earlier? All I had to do was find a large gunmount in the shade and let Matt roam. Big guns, big chains, big ship, big time. He kept on smiling. Good stuff, he said. They had a warehouse full of interesting planes too, and a submarine Matt got to explore. The cutest thing we saw -- a troop of Cub Scouts, parents and sleeping bags in tow, come aboard to spend the night. As for us, we spent the night just west of Mobile, ordered pizza in.
