We spent all day yesterday getting ready for another out-of-towner. A little laundry, a little housecleaning, a little extra attention for the kitty cats. We even got in a round of exercise at Lakeshore.
Now we are headed for points south, with our first stop in the capital city of Alabama, Montgomery. Matt and I have been to a lot of capitols together, Olympia, Helena, Bismarck, Pierre, just to name a few.
We find the imposing structure, park out front at a meter, the sun is blazing down. Where exactly is visitor parking? There are many steps to climb, inside it is cool, and quietly hushed. We sign a guest book, and proceed, self-guided, a walk-about.
Not much business conducted here anymore, it's really a museum, correctly and historically preserved. We wind up in the gift shop, but Matt doesn't want a souvenir.
