Saying that though the 1st person we actually met was English and was a complete dick! he was from kent and kept slagging everything and every1 off! and saying how he would love to bosh a pill and do a line of coke! what a dicknose-bore off you fathead! we are gonna meet some really cool people out here but were also gona encounter some real idiots aswell,we just humoured the moron.
No more eating out every night like thailand,we done some food shopping this morn and brought our breaky and dinner.We also checked out some places in town to see how much renting a car would be but ended up choosing the 1 we 1st went to which rented out these cool camper vans with grafiti on it,like the hippie sort of vans!
In English pounds its costing us about 300squid each for 34 days,that includes everything-insurance,drop of charge etc.The good thing about the van is that its got air con and power steering and it sleeps 3 people which will save us cash on accomadation which is awesome! we havnt named her yet but im sure when we see her for the 1st time the name will come to us! we leave Brisbane on the 8th and heading down to Byron bay then heading up the east coast,cant wait! the world is our oyster! the good thing about it is we can do it at our own pace and go where we want,we wanna head all the way up to Cairns and spend a bit of time there,and the great barrier reef where me and els are qualified open water divers and want to do a few dives there which should be really cool! we can drop the van off there and then we are planning on catching a flight from Cairns to Melbourne,which we are in the process of booking as i write.
In Melbourne we are planning on staying with John and Blake the aussie guys we met in Thailand for maybe a week then heading to Sydney for the remainder of our stay in Australia before flying to New zealand.Well thats the plan anyway! im sure things could change! til our new journey in our van goodbye! and i promise some more pics when i get the chance.
well! only a day til we get our hands on the van,weve thought of a few names but nothing definete just yet,we will know when we lay eyes on our precious vehicle.not done to much in last few days to be honest Brisbane is really quiet during the week,the busiest place to go is our hostel,apart from that its a ghost town,we went to the cinema last night and watched a film called babel which starred brad pitt,it was pretty good very weird though.
I tripped out last night big time during my sleep and the boys slated me for it this morning,dont worry james hargreaves it had nothing to do with you! we headed down to southbank today to chill out on the fake beach next to the river,Brisbane hasnt got a coast so thats the reason for having it-its quite a cool place,really nicely laid out with shops,cafes,restaurants and the university-its a really nice place.we stayed there for a couple of hrs and i tried to top up my tan,ive become white and pasety from not being in the sun enough,ive got plenty of time to get brown anyway!
The highlight of the day was still to come me and Els had our thai boxing shorts with us and were ready for the rematch,woody cardona complained about our arena in the 1st bout so we found a place perfect for our rematch! like a said we were near a uni and they've got this open air stadium for performing arts,so we fought there.
Josh was the camara man/commentator,he called us into the arena elliot 1st then me,els came in punching and waving to the fans and i threw my towel on the floor as i came into the ring then kicked and punched and waved to my fans,it was on!3 rounds of kicking and punching,the bell went and i got a good start with a few kicks and a punch els got me a few times but i felt i won the 1st round,the best moment is when i kick els and in the shin and you see us both pull backl in pain from the clash! it well hurt both of us!
2nd round els had me,i backed off to much and got a hammering,he got me a few good times and got hold of my leg and pulled me to the floor.
3rd round i came out of the blocks guns blazing,i went for him hard and kicked him a load of times and had him backed off,quite even 3rd round to be honest-a would say it was a draw,you decide its on els's travelpod.
we left Brisbane on the 8th of feb-els's b,day at around 1pm,we picked up our van,it took longer than it shoulve because the staff were having problems with 3 dutch birds complaining about there vehicle not being fixed in 2days,they were not happy and were giving the staff loads of shit! they were heading for byron bay,so fingers crossed we will not see them!
The drive to Byron was really easy,mainly moterway-josh drove down here,hes a good lil driver,very confident in his ability! the vans actually really nice and easy to drive,power steering and the air con is cool! the only thing thats slightly dodgy is when you change gear to 3rd,can be a bit stiff at times but im not complaining,we are in love with her! still havnt got a name for her,on the side of the van it says deluxe days,so we might just stick with that!
When we got into Byron we drove about,its not a massive place but its got a real surfers buzz about it,we tried to check into some campsites with no luck but eventually found 1 just outside town,about a 2kilometre walk.we got settled,bought some beers and food and chilled out on our deckchairs before heading into town for Els's b,day.Went to a really lively bar on the beachfront,loads of people there,we stayed there for most of the night playing drinking games and getting smashed before heading to the club,cheeky monkeys!
just a short walk to cheeky monkeys,whilst we were queueing a bunch of girls started calling us pommies,we were like why do you call us pommies? they couldnt give us an answer! at one point one of there friends debated our accents saying it wasnt even an english accent,we had to get our driving licences to prove them wrong! crazy bitches!
had a real good night,got smashed in the club,the club was alrite but a bit to small and cramped,i'd probaly compare it to bar med but bigger and less sweaty! got the best vid ever of els and josh doing aussie impressions outside the club walking home,els suddenly grabs josh and furiously shkes him and josh starts crying,sooo funny,you'll love it when i get a chance to upload it! soothed out on the beach today,its awesome,really sandy,huge beach and massive waves and probaly loads of sharks! i hate sharks.
last few days weve been chilling on the beach doing a bit of sunbathing,footy and bodyboarding,me and josh got really burnt the other day on our faces and my lower back-ouch,its bloody sore! the sun seems to be alot hotter and severe on the skin than thailand! we went out again we still had some beers left over and we went and bought some vodka before we went out,to make it a cheaper night.
we got well hammered,the last bar we were in the liverpool v newcastle game came on the tele,the boys were over the moon,josh a liverpool fan and els a newcastle fan but just before the game started they switched it off and were closing,they were gutted! haha.
we met up with jambos sister louise and mimi my lil sister sophies friends y,day,really nice to see some friendly faces,had a good chat and are going out for a few drinks with them tonight.weve been staying in camp sites every other night and then just parking up at this secluded lay-by near the beach the other nights to save money cos it costs for staying in a camp site,we just chilled and cooked our food on the gas grill,watched some 24 and went to bed,it pissed it down all night and early this morning we got a banging on our door!
It was a copper,we opened the door and he said what are we doing here-your not allowed here.we quickly made up that we'd got here last night and that there were no camp sites opened,he replied in a (thick aussie accent) you must think im stupid fellas,if you got here late last nite how come its dry under your car its been raining all nite-thats a 110 doller fine each,we were like aaaahhhh no! 110doller fine-harsh,we cant afford to be paying that i was thinking to myself,he then said go on get out of here and find yourself a campsite,we were let off! thank god-lesson learnt!
Surfers paradise.- Arrived here i think on the 12th of jan,really cool place,lots of big skyscrapers,shops,restaurants and a long beach! The place is seperated by the canel into small resedential islands,from a birdseye view it looks really cool.Theres alot to do here from hanging out on the beach to bowling,arcades,laser quest and lots of shopping to do,its so tempting but ive gotta stay strong and not buy anything,on a budget! We went round looking around the shops and i swear we could of just blown our money right there and then,there was a cool billabong and adidas shop that had everything i couldve ever wanted,Harsh!
I still might treat myself,see what happens.1st day we chilled on the beach and played a bit of footy and messed about in the sea,the waves are even bigger here and current stronger,we didnt hire bodyboards we just used our palms of our hands to use as a board to take us with the wave,it actually works and was a real good laugh!
last few days weve just chilled looking about town,josh has been meeting with the danish girl he met,her name is sofie but els just calls her danish girl! one night josh went and met with her and me and els went for a wonder and said we'd meet at the hardrock cafe,outside standing there was this fella called ,he was selling tickets for a bar crawl,we liked him immediatly,very funny guy! Els quoted as saying afterwards " he could of sold me a bucket of sand and i would of bought it"
bar crawl was good lots of drinking games,booze and fit birds! i participated in 2 of the games,one was i had to stand on a chair whilst a girl run an ice cube up one trouser leg and down the other one and then eat it,then the girls had to get on the chair with us and snog us but the girl i was with just long kissed me on the lips-no tongue.gutted
The other one we had to get in positions as quickly as possible when the man on the microphone called out the positions! they got ruder as the contest went on,me and my partner didnt make it to the final stages,bit gutted! he started calling out positions like the 69,spoons,snog your partner and the best one a standing upside down 69! quality! It was an alright night for me but i didnt last long,went home fairly early!
The other night we went to (ripleys believe it or not museum) saw some pretty weird stuff and some interesting things.I stood and got a pic of me and the tallest man ever,hes hugh! i think he was about 8,6 or something,i'll upload the pic and you will see for yourself! got a picture of clive hibbert,ricky long and woody cardona in the museum aswell,it was really good to see them,pics will be uploaded soon! we also went to the arcades played on some video games,even though im not the biggest fan of videogames it was a good laugh,played some crazy golf,went on the dodgems and played laserquest!
Laserquest was a good laugh i was called badgirl and els was called sonic! i felt the teams were a bit unfair,the blue team had all men on it including els and the team i was in which was orange had women and little girls,not being sexist ladys who read this but when your in combat you need big strong men who have good aim and accurracy.saying that there was this little girl about 10yrs old who was on the red team who was running about everywhere and got me about 15 times easily,annoying little punk! thats the problem with lil kids they have no fear of being hit so they just run about with out a care in the world whilst im trying to be tactical and hide in good positions! she runs behind you and gets you.
We booked our 2day ticket to Dreamworld and white waterworld for the next morning,headed at the early time of 9 oclock in the morn,only 25mins in (sheila) the van.The good thing about the 2day pass is that the parks are right next to each other and you can crossover as much as you want throughout the day plus we get to go back again at any time in the next 2 weeks! we went to Dreamworld 1st and as soon as we got to the 1st ride had problems trying to get josh on there,we tried to persuade him to come on but he was having none of it.we went on a few other rides e.g rameses ravenge,log flume,rapids,terror tower and the rollercoaster which he did come on,fair play to him! video is on els's travelpod!
Went ove to white waterworld which is a waterpark full of wicked slides and wave machines and a adventure water playground for the kids that was full of slides,nets to climb on etc! It was Nickelodeon,and had the rugrats faces on it-pretty big!We played tag on the playground which was a good laugh,whilst i was it! i was looking for the guys and saw this lil boy crying his eyes out near one of the slides near the top of this nickelodeon playground,water was spraying everywhere and kids shoutin,screaming and running about-he couldnt of been more than 7yrs old and was terrified! the thing was, at the top of this nickelodeon tower there was a massive bucket filling up with water every minute or so and dropping it down on the everyone below,and he was standing right underneath it and wouldnt move,i said are you alright and he shaked his head, i said wheres your mummy? i said do you wanna get down and he said yes so i picked him up and took him to the bottom,his mum was there and said thankyou so much! hes so scared of this sort of stuff.
I felt pretty good about myself,ive done my good deed for the day but i had to get back to work and find the guys,after ages and ages of them teasing and taunting me i had my eyes on wallin and wasnt far away,i thought id be able to close the gap by jumping over this slide but i was wrong,i stepped on the slide and fell over,rolling like an italian footballer after a tackle! we finished there cos it was to dangerous to be running around the kids even though we were probaly the biggest kids there that day,running to every ride like we were 10yrs old! good day and were going back so yippee!!!!
