In an attempt to save money, I've decided to walk everywhere, even though it is time consuming and difficult with a 15 kg backpack on your body. Instead of spending the Euro 50 on the bus, I walk in the heat with a haevy pack. I've realised this is sort of stupid. Today I spent an hour and 15 min walking to the other end of Haarlem, instead of taking the bus which would have taken five minutes. Maybe my efforts to save money should be focused on other things, rather than public transportation.

I saw a little bit of Haarlem. It reminded me of Amsterdam, though the atmosphere was friendlier. I talked to some really nice locals and they pointed me in the direction some really nice shops and restaurants. I bought supper from a grocery store and had a picnic on a canal next to a windmill. It was very enjoyable.

The next morning I had the best breakfast yet. All hostels offer free breakfast, but this one was by far the best. There was cheese and meat and really good cerals. There were even multiple types of bread. And, to top things off, there were apples and oranges. Awesome. I was so stoked, generally I get bread with peanut butter, so this was a real treat.
