With My sister's posse of 6 (3 kids, 1 friend), and my gang of 5 (my two parents - now over 70 - and my young son Brendan and girlfriend Josee), we had to split the lodging into two locales. My Sis went the traditional large guest house looking over the bay in Cape Porpoise (SEE main travelogue photo), while my side is to shack up at the legendary Tides Inn By The Sea at Goose Rocks Beach app 3 miles down route 9 from Cape Porpoise.
Some things to consider when travelling with the elderly and a young infant:
1- Timing of departure to synchronize with baby feeding times, and Granparent bathroom visits is crucial. A 7-hour car trip with a morning departure means a breakie on the way at 7 am and a nice lunch stop for about an hour.
2- The driver must comply with all demands of his finicky travellers to buy (and broker) travel peace at all times. No smoking in the car by the ole' man like he used to do in the days when we were growing up. Those travel excursions where Dad lit up in the car......and the kids puked up on the back seat...are for history...the smoking part anyway.
