one might think that living abroad is this exciting experience. And the truth is that it is, just not all the time. There are alot of days where we do nothing. Today for example abbey is sick, was up most of the night last night, therefore shes been sleeping most of the day. That leaves me housebound and rather bored. I did however get some cleaning done, and watched Julie and Julia. While the movie was a little bland here and there, and Julia Childs voice really annoys me i did get something out of it. She began her love for cooking because she was living in Paris with her husband who was working for the american embassy. She needed something to do to keep herself busy, thus began her cooking career! When youre living abroad there are plenty of times im looking for something to do to keep myself busy. I dont know anybody so i'm reading, writing, watching really boring television most of which is in dutch. I'd love to be crafting, learn to knit, paint, refinish some old piece of furniture, but because we have limited time and space ive vowed to save that stuff for later. (when i probably wont have the time) She had 4 years, i have 4 months...big difference!
We still have yet to sign up for a doctor, take abbey swimming in our new healthclub, and a few other tasks, but most will have to wait until shes feeling better.
Actually i cant complain about today, as much as i'd like abbey to feel better, im enjoying my time alone!
