Where I stayed
Chateau de Chargé
After a quick stop to taste mustard in Dijon, we made our way to the Loire Valley. While in the area, we visited Blois, Tours, and Chinon, driving past some of the region's beautiful Chateaux in between.
But the highlight of our time here was spent at Chateau de Chargé, a bed and breakfast run by Lauren’s former co-worker, Jerome; his lovely wife Charlotte; and their two adorable kids, Louis and Samuel. Jerome and Charlotte were incredibly hospitable and we really enjoyed spending time with them. We had two amazing home-cooked meals; we drank LOTS of local wine while Jerome gave us mini tasting lessons; and we made crème de marron from handpicked chestnuts. It was so nice to be around a family, especially one as warm as theirs.
If any of you are ever in the Loire Valley, definitely stay at Chateau de Chargé. We may be biased, but check out its Trip Advisor reviews to confirm our recommendation.
