This entry is retrospect for lack of having this log at the time! :-D

The wedding ceremony was great. It was overcast, it rained a little tiny bit when I got to the church, and it was darn right cold (about 9 degrees C with a strong wind from the north... in the middle of June ;-P), but it was great :) We had a lot of fun during the reception, danced till 3 am, and the food was great!

We left Rivière-du-Loup on the Sunday morning and made our way to my parents' in Montréal some 5 hours away. Yep, we had to sleep one night at my parents' haha We live in Ottawa, which is 2 more hours away from Rivière-du-Loup, but our flight was leaving from Montreal in the wee hours of the next day, so... yep. We slept our second night at my parents' ;-) It's fine, the only thing different really is that now we have rings on our fingers, it's not like we never slept over before :-D

So we left for Cuba early morning (retrospectively, almost a year after actually, I have a blank on the exact time our flight was), and got there around lunch time. The hotel is nice enough, kinda quiet, but that's ok. The have a nice pool, and the beach is nice but we're around the end of the rainy season so there's still lots of wind, and that also means lots of waves. We still went in for a bit, stayed not too far and just rocked with the waves, but I was a little worried about jellyfishes who usually accompany strong waves (they actually had the warnings for them as well), and rpecisely because of the waves, you can't really see them. So I didn't stay too long, Guy did a bit longer, but he came out fast enough as well when ha saw one just a few inches from him. Ha! He wouldn't believe me at first :-P So we decided to mainly stick to the pool, haha!

The food is pretty good actually, for Cuba. Cuba is kindve notorious for having ok, but not that tasty food :) The little restaurant by the pool has good pizzas, and the buffet for supper has tons of choices. I especially like the pasta buffet, where you choose your pastas, sauces, and veggies :) The only downfall is the massive amount of mosquitoes. The other half of their pool is actually a lagoon, so very tasty for mosquitoes... I didn't think they'd be so much, I usually never had that problem when travelling at this time of the year. Oh well, we'll see if we can get some repeller at the gift shop tomorrow. I just hope I won't get too bitten - they usually love me. And I usually love to react to: I get massive red spots wherever a mosquito bites me... They are also a lot of crabs from the lagoon who come out at night, and our room is a little bit off the center of the hotel, so we gotta watch where we step lol They are huge!

Our room is very nice, very simple, but through the decoration it makes it just lovely :) We also have a hammack on the balcony, facing the sea, so that's nice. My mom made the reservation as "honeymoon" lol So we got a bottle of rhum! haha :) And they also did little sculptures with our towels as you can see on the entrance pic of this log :) We also get extra reservations for the restaurants they have here (it's usually just 1 in either one of the two per week stay - we got a possibility of 2 in each of them). Apparently they'll be a "special" evening with other couples at some point, can't wait to see what they're preparing for us :)

This being said, today was a long day!
Ciao!
