Today was pretty easy - just 1h drive :-P After yesterday's, it felt nice hehe I still can't believe how much ground we covered yesterday, 4 states... That's the most I've ever done in one shot without stopping here or there to visit this or that that pops up along the way :)
So we're back in London again! (check out my log for Southern Ontario last year). It's a beautiful city here, very green, clean, big but not too much, friendly... All the time I was in Portland, I kept telling Guy "Oh Portland reminds me of London!", and now today, I was all "Wow, this reminds me of Portland!" haha Guy eventually reminded me that, yes, he knows, I kept saying when I was in Portland that it reminded me of London ;-) (are you confused between the cities yet??)
We got here at lunch time, and went to visit the London Museum. It was small, but nice. There was an historical section in the basement which Guy found thrilling, and an art section on the 2nd floor which I found thrilling, so we were both thrilled! They had a small exhibition on Art in London 1970-1987 which had a few works by artists like Curnoe, Paterson, they had some Creates in the basement, and many others I didn't really know. I loved one work - the paper's in the car so I'll PS the artist-title later - which I really loved: the artist took a picture of himself holding up a white sheet on which he hinted a contour of a sitting figure - oh, the title was "Self-portrait with my Father". There was a projector you had to turn on, which projected a small film of the father sitting on the chair, shifting position, etc. I really liked the play between the photographed and film. The person holding the photograph BECAME the photograph once the film was started, while the photograph became the moving, present person. But when there was no film, then it was just a photograph of someone holding a picture of his father... Interesting :-P And I actually managed to get Guy interested long enough to explain that when he went "what's that" and pressed the button and I went "oooohhhh!!!!" lol
We had a nice supper included with our hotel, it was good. Afterwards, we strolled in the park drinking Starbucks and socializing with squirrels. No, really. They actually would climb on the bench and come just close enough to see if we had food, but kept their distance so of course they would be safe from any physical contact ;-) (not like I would've tried anyway, those things bite hard lol) It was hilarious and very cute :-P When they went back in the park, all we needed to do were little "tut-tut" (you know, when you call squirrels lol) and zoom, they came running back :) I eventually felt bad for them, they wanted food real bad I guess :) So I gave one a piece of stick lol That's all I had... It was insulted I think hahaha (it ran away and pouted).
Anyway, this is pretty much the end of the vacation: tomorrow we have our final stretch back home. I'm looking forward to lunching with my cousin in Toronto, we don't see each other often :)
Cha cha!
