Our voyage ended in Punta Arenas where we had a quick bite to eat ( a choripan...made from chorizo and a special sauce and housed in a roll) and then a very quick city tour as we were headed toward our final destination for the evening of Puerto Natales.  Punta Arenas has a bustling port overlooking the Straits of Magellan.  The city, from the viewpoint, was quite colorful.  The town plaza was cute with kiosks selling a variety of goods and a statue to Magellan.  The legend is if you touch the toe of one of the figures (it can't be missed because of the color), you will return again someday to Punta Arenas.

On our way to Puerto Natales, a sleepy town on the Snoret Channel in the shadow of the Andes, we headed inland for a visit to a Patagonian estancia.  Here we toured the huge sheep ranch, watched  a sheep shearing demonstration, and had a delicious lunch of roasted lamb.  The setting was beautiful as it was also located along the shoreline of one of the channels.

Puerto Natales was our setting off place to Torres del Paine National Park.  This is, perhaps, one of the loveliest parks in the world.
