Where I stayed
Tarangire Tented Safari Lodge
Tarangire National Park was our first park in Tanzania and the 6th largest park in the country. Tarangire is teeming with an amazing diversity of exotic flora and fauna including elephant, lion, leopard and buffalo. The park has nine distinct vegetation zones ranging from grassland to woodland, from deep gully vegetation to scattered rocky hilltops. The landscape is dominated baobab trees and by the Tarangire River which was also near the lodge we stayed at. The lodge is atop a ridge that overlooked a river valley below where animals would come to drink. We stayed in a tent that was very comfortable and with all the amenities. We saw lots of Zebra here as well as a variety of other animals plus lots of different birds. Our favorite was the Lilac-Breasted Roller.
