So before we get into the details of today we'll finish off yesterday.
We were invited to dinner at the local Chinese with our Principal, husband and daughter, Aimee (who we're staying with) and three of the other teachers from the school.
Had a great time chatting and WAY too much food!
This morning we were up and about at 8.30 and for the next hour Alysha spoke to dell trying to sort out her internet. At 10 we were to Marg's (my year 5 teacher) for morning tea with a never ending supply of food - delicious!
We left Marg's at midday for a 1 hour drive to Barcaldine for May Day festivities. On our way there we learnt the art of the 2 fingered wave to oncoming drivers - it's quite a skill!
We stopped at the tree of knowledge (or lack of) and happened to run into Polly from uni who was on her way to Aramac. What are the chances...
The May Day festivities consisted of goat races at the showground, so funny! Tiny children are stuck on carts behind the goats and are instructed to whip whip whip. 70% of the goats want no part in the racing so there was much pulling and shoving to get them to the start line. Our tip: the further you stick your finger/hand up the goats bum the faster they will go....
Tomorrow is day 1 of school so stay posted for more news.....
