There we are, ready for take-off... In general I don't mind airports but I never feel that good at Hobart airport... perhaps because there's always the nagging doubt that I've forgotten something.
Tim had a long chat to the Chinese girl sitting next to him... by the time we got to Melbourne she was speaking more Esperanto than some of the members in our society.
Because we missed out on the cheap flight to Melbourne on Sunday morning we decided to take the late flight the day before and sleep at the airport. Considering how early you have to get up for the 6 o'clock flight it's probably not such a bad idea. But as soon as my niece heard about my plan (a couple of hours before we were due to leave Hobart) she said she'd come and pick us up so we could spend the night at her place... As soon as we got into her car we had a beer each pressed into our hands. So much for a peaceful night at the airport...
In fact we didn't even think about getting any sleep until about 2:30 in the morning. Well, there was no choice by then as we'd run out of vodka.

The over-riding impression I have of Georgetown, Penang is motorbikes, heat, noise, and motorbike fumes. Maybe they've all got Malaysian-built Proton cars now? Take the fast ferry to Langkawi, much more peaceful.
