Morning in Shanghai

It's pretty hot over here. That special holiday feel has just kicked in. Not sure whether it's the language or the weather... or proximity from home.

The area where I stayed just seems to be for long distance buses and trucks.

The restaurant looks much better in the photo than what it was actually like inside.


The hotel doesn't look so bad from the outside and indeed it was quite nice.

Hah, at Shanghai airport I was wandering around thinking 'ah yes, the bookshop will be over there..', then I remembered that I'd never been at this airport before. But of course the bookshop was there. Shows you how really 'international' these airports are. You've seen one you've seen them all. Really they are huge shopping malls that also function as somewhere to catch a plane from. It amazes me that people can't do their shopping in whatever city they've been but have to wait till they get to the airport.
