After a great tip from Jane, we decided to head south to the beach at Port Elliot and not north to the v hot hills.

Port Elliot is near Victor Harbour,  a plesant, quiet town.  There's even a digital community radio station.  Seems everyhwere in Sth Aus has a forecast of 40-45 degress today except this region where they are tipping a cool 38.

We found the beautiful Tarooki B&B (via a bit of luck) - it is self contained with 2 big bedrooms, nice outside areas, is v cool and has a v comfy bed.  Haven't tested the shower yet!!  The walls are covered with art works by the owner (Sandy wants to take one home) and many others too. We opened the front door this morning and decided a day inside relaxing & reading would be a good idea!

Last night we went to the local pub (Hotel Elliot) for dinner - great food, very crowded.

We have another night here and hopefully we will then follow the cool change back to Victoria
