So I sadly write for possibly the last time, but am happy to report that I passed the class and am now certified in the "lower-intermediate" rank of Czech proficiency. That's a little scary. I didn't think there was any possible way I could pass the exam before I took it, and even afterwards, I thought it would be a miracle if I passed.

The graduation ceremony was in a small chapel in the school (but large enough to fit 200 people probably). We had a nice ceremony in the gorgeous room but unfortunately I forgot my camera. Tonight there is a reception at 6 but most people will be gone already. It's crazy to think tomorrow night I will be back in Omaha. No more smazeny syr (deep fried cheese on a hamburger bun with ketchup, tartar sauce and cabbage-yum!)sadly.

I tried to reserve a room at the Lunik hotel in Prague where the Benaks stayed with the free internet but I'm not sure if I will be staying there tonight or not. They sent me a confirmation email but then sent me a notice that it had been cancelled because I didn't send my credit card number fast enough. But the second email was only a few hours after the first so I don't know. I'm going to stop by tonight and see if they have a room there and if not, I might try the Holiday Inn cuz a girl from class is staying there tonight and she has a 7am flight from Prague tomorrow as well. She's from Brooklyn but goes to Berkley. I wish I had a roster of all the people in this class and where they're from because I'm sure it must be around 20 countries at least. I still can't believe I passed that test. The only thing that worries me is now that I have it, people might think I'm better than I am. I would like to get a private tutor when I get home, maybe Lada or someone. I'm probably coming back next summer for Ross and Katka's wedding. We'll see.
I had better go back to the dorms so I can see some friends off. I don't want them to leave without me getting to say good-bye. I'll probably write one more entry tonight if I can from the Lunik Hotel.

Safe travels and happy memories
Ben, we've enjoyed very much your travel log and colorful stories. Grandpa had to join the Navy to travel the world, so be happy you could travel with much less discipline and orders. You have shown a great deal of courage, curiosity and adaptability, which will serve you well no matter what you do when you get back here (and when you go back there). Thanks for being willing to share your adventure with those of us on the other side of the pond. Remember to thank God for his abundant gifts and blessings to you and thanks for your willingness to share them with all of us. We love you and we'll pray for your safe travels. Dave, Melia and boys

Bittersweet is right!
Can't wait to see you tomorrow! :) Our vicarious adventure is ending as well. I hope you can get a roster of your classmates, or at least got addresses for those you got to know best. It would be fascinating to see the roster, though. See you soon! Love you!
