Okay I must confess I am in Naples, not Amalfi. I just wanted a different map pin for Amalfi, plus I was there earlier today. The bus ride from Salerno to Amalfi was full of beautiful scenes and I have some really great pictures. I wish I could upload photos day by day, that would be amazing but at least my camera organizes them by date so I can keep track when I do upload them in Olomouc.

Amalfi was just gorgeous, crystal clear water and lots of bright flowers and vegetation and rocky cliffs going right down to the water. I was almost persuaded to stay the night there by a girl from Belgium who was working for the hostel there but I didn't want to pay a penalty for not using my reservation here in Naples. I might stay there the night of the 20th. I was only in Amalfi for about two hours, just enough to walk around a bit and eat some pizza. The restaurant didn't mention the "cover charge" until you get the bill so that was quite inappropriate. I kind of wish I would have refused to pay it because I didn't plan to spend that much but whatever.

So my hostel here is pretty close to the train station but I took the bus, it was a very tiring long walk in circles before I managed to find the bus stop that took me here. If I only had a goose for every wild goose chase Ive been on, I would have a gaggle of geese. Ugh. Anyway, the hostel is okay, its like halfway up this mountain though so it is a trek to get there. I cant wait to go to bed. Well I have to go, thanks for reading...

Great entry!
Love the gaggle of geese! :) Sounds like Amalfi is absolutely beautiful! I've never been there, but I'm glad you got there. I am looking forward to seeing all your beautiful pictures when you get to Olomouc!

finally
Dobry den! It is a dobry den cuz we FINALLY got on your travelouge. I am in awe of all of your experiences and of your courage to do all of your travels. You will have so many pictures you won't know what to do. Label them soon so you don't forget what/where they are. We pray that God will watch over you every step of the way.
Love ya! Monica

Me next?
WOW. I just read all your entries since we just got on your list, and WOW. They've made me want to travel Europe even more than I wanted to before. I'm baffled at you meeting all these people! How?! I don't think I'd be brave enough to travel Europe alone...plus I'm horrible at directions. I'm amazed at how you just kind of go with the flow, see what you want, and trust all these people you just met! So in a few years, you, me, and some other cousins if they wish should definitely do this again. I'm EXTREMELY interested in seeing the Czech Republic and Europe. (And maybe Marta - our foreign exchange student - could meet up with us!) I love hearing about your fun (and not-so-fun) experiences!
Thanks, Ben!

Gaggle of geese??
Hey Ben,

For once a useful and personal touch to the internet...now, if only there were pictures. Its amazing reading all that you've enjoyed and experienced, but I cant see you making good time anywhere with a bunch of geese trailing you. Today (Friday, 212-July) we had some decent rain and our heat wave finally broke...it was 68 at lunchtime. Hope the rest of your pre-school travel time is fun and safe. Uncle Bill ... writing using Bonnie's account [so now u know WHICH Uncle Bill]
