Ciao, I am just going to give a synopsis of yesterday really quick cuz I have a ton I want to see today! So I got up early and went to a tour of the Vatican; St. Peters Basilica and the Sistine Chapel were absolutely amazing. In a way they are almost too famous so when you see them it seems surreal. I couldn't believe my eyes inside St. Peters and looking around Vatican Square! Wow. Pretty cool. But due to the amount of history and my lack of knowledge of it I will probably have to make another trip eventually.

So I spent about half the day there then saw about 10 more amazing sights and a traffic accident where a guy on a scooter got thrown like 30 feet. Then I went on a tour of the Roman Forum in the evening. Its really hard to imagine what it was like here 2000 years ago.

My favorite statue was the Pieta I think, other highlights include bargaining those street vendors down in price (love that!), the fountains, the Spanish Steps and talking to some guys about my age from Iraq and Afghanistan. I bought a tie, just for the heck of it. I was woken up this morning and yesterday morning by the nuns singing prayers at like 7am. That was extraordinary. Amazing. I was going to get up and go to Mass at 6:40am but I figured I would just be falling asleep during Mass, and thats no good, so yea.

If you guys want a little more "realistic" feel of my trip here, do the following: wear the same pants for about a week straight, and the same shirt for no less than 2-3 days. As for socks,(maybe even underwear) a two day minimum. Make sure to walk about 5-10 miles everyday. It has to be about 100 degrees, the hotter the better, you need to be sweating almost all day, with a very few exceptions (internet cafes, museums). When you cant stand the smell of your clothes any longer, find some water and "wash" them. No soap and forget fabric softener. Crunchy? Yes. Clean? Well... but it does wash the stink out. Haha.

I am really looking forward to seeing the Amalfi Coast, I actually booked 3 nights in Naples, the 17, 18, 19. Tonight I want to go to Capri, Salerno or Agerola but they might need 48 hour reservations... Until next time, ciao.
