After a long flight to Frankfurt yesterday, I had the pleasure of spending an eternity (7 hours) in the hot airport waiting for my connection to Prague. Anyways, so I finally made it to Prague at about 5 and didn't get to my hotel until 9pm. I'm staying in this complex of dorms kind of place. It's right by a huge soccer stadium. I hope they don't kick me out while I'm gone. I was going to stay 3 nights but only paid for one so far. Do they have check out times at dorms? Well I'll find that out later.

These people here in Prague are such nice people. A professor at Charles University was an angel helping me find a place to stay. I gave him a pin from Omaha (it said Omaha: Rare.Well-Done. so I explained the whole steak phenomenon in Omaha. He spoke great English.

Today I woke up at 4:30am and couldn't go back to sleep so I took a shower and went for a walk. Lovely day. It's great seeing all the Sokol people from everywhere in their uniforms all over the city. There are a bunch of Czech ladies staying on my floor and it's a little awkward seeing them walking around in their nightgowns in groups of three and four. But anyway...I am having a great time so far and am still definitely in "adjustment mode". My Czech is getting me around fairly well. I wish I brought Dave's converter on this trip, I could really use it for my phone, computer and laptop.

Well we're leaving to go to the Slet now, I'm going with the Benaks from Omaha. I wanted to catch Skye before she left but she was gone already at like 8 when I got to their hotel here. I don't know when my next update will be. Later.

P.S. Sorry no photos, I'm working on it...

You made it to Praha!
Praise the Lord! Wow! So good to hear from you! Sounds like everything is going great so far! Eventually I'll want more details, esp. how you got from the airport in Praha to the dorms, how you contacted the professor, etc. So cool to hear about the Sokols from all over! I guess you'll have to be not only the UNO ambassador to Olomouc, but the Buchta family ambassador to the Slet, also! :) Nick says hi and that we missed you on the 4th. I know you'll remember THIS 4th all your life, though, while the other 4ths will all blend together. Of course, I think every 4th of the 4th Mom and I spent in Venice! Speaking of which, we just got a postcard today from Bob, Kathy, Joe, and Jason, who've been in Italy and are apparently on a European cruise. They said that Florence, Venice, and Pompeii have been their favorites and 'tomorrow's Rome'. It's not dated, so I'm not sure when they wrote it. Another good reason to do Italy instead of Germany- you can talk about it with more people! Gotta go- I'll keep praying. You keep writing! Love you!!!!!! Maminka

Taticek here a.k.a. Dad- und-O.
What a very exciting first contact with us! Seeing your photo on this Travel Pod makes you look like a Michael Savage or Dr. Laura celebrity. Way cool.
Temps are a bit cooler here the past few days Supposed to get up into the 90's on Saturday.
Zach and I are getting ready for our Webelos Camp Cedars. Do you remember back that far, son?
