One slightly overcast day, the Famous Five set off on their canal boat adventure.
"A week on board a canal boat", said George, "What fun! I shall catch up on my reading, and write some post cards to Mother and Father."
"Oh look!", said Anne, "There are four tiny bunks and the cutest little kitchen."
"It's called a galley on a boat", said Dick.
"You girls load up the boat while Dick and I take a look at the Lister engine and prepare to take off", said Julian, "Here's some money, George. Go and get supplies in the canal boat shop."
"Make sure you get lashings of Ginger Beer", said Dick.
As George ran off to the shop she called over her shoulder, "Has anyone seen Timmy?"
