Monday I went shopping and wandering around the area - all day. I found the main shopping center in Lyngby and found a fan so I can sleep peacefully, as well as a lot of other shops and a mall that will come in handy sooner or later. If you need something you can probably find it in that area. Otherwise, there is an Ikea on another bus route that I visited next
People here usually speak a decent amount of English, but there can be a few holdups. Better than visiting a country that doesn't have English as a national language and being completely lost! Still, I am an awkward foreigner until I learn how to behave in Danish society. Speaking of, I kind of have the hang of using the buses after yesterday. Hopefully I can find some more items for my room and school and do some more shopping.
I started my introduction week for exchange students today. There are fifteen groups that have around a dozen or so people in them. My group has 14 people from 14 different countries
I got a free SIM card for my phone so I have a Danish phone number now. We are going sightseeing in downtown Copenhagen tomorrow, and my group wants me to win the photography contest with my nice camera haha. I'll give it a good shot. They have all given me high fives after I was the only one that could hit a three pointer for one of our group challenges this afternoon. Must be the American in me. I have enough to keep me really busy around here this week seeing as I'm moving into a new country, and thankfully the rest of the week doesn't sound as long and tiring as today was. It's nice to meet so many people.
