On our way to Hoover Dam, I was driving and we hit a random tire on the interstate. Luckily I avoided most of it in time and there was no damage to the car. We were lucky. Had it done some damage to the car, we would've been stuck in Kingman, AZ for the rest of the trip. I think it was good that the tire was already ripped in half, if it was in its full form, it would've been harder to avoid.

The Hoover Dam itself was interesting. I'd been there before, so I've seen it. Although I don't remember much of it, probably because I had just woken up last time I saw it. And for us, we didn't see much because it was nighttime and most of the pedestrian ways were closed. And with construction, a lot of other viewpoints were closed. On the plus side, we were making good time on our way to Vegas.

We knew in advance that the CES convention was going on and that hotel prices were inflated because of it. So we started to think of plans of how to stay near Vegas cheaply but close enough to make it fun. And then I got tired anyway, so we thought about staying somewhere between Hoover Dam and Vegas. Well when we passed through, there really wasn't much. There was Henderson which was okay, but I didn't bother to stop. And there were a few other hotel casino palaces that try to take advantage of being so close to the border. So we just kept trucking on.
