Anyway, passing through downtown Denver was fun for Randy, a bit stressful for me since everyone was going below the speed limit. I was getting frustrated with Denver's drivers. Eventually we saw a commercial area and stopped off and got lunch. We had lunch at a place called Gunther Toody's. We didn't see much else and we had no idea what kind of place it was. It just looked like a sit-down restaurant. When we got in, we found out it was a 50s style diner with genuine themery. A real soda-fountain, phosphate drinks, music, indoor cadillac, bobby-socks and pony-tails, the whole she-bang. We were pleasantly surprised by the place. The food was pretty good as well.
At lunch we decided that we were going to head for the Grand Canyon first and then go from there. Once we decided to go SW, we both knew we were going to the Grand Canyon first. Randy had earlier mentioned wanting to go hiking, so I knew that heading there first was important to us.
