I knew I had a four day weekend coming up. And internet access was down at home (wireless router is still out, but I just found out that the connection is okay) so it would be extremely boring to stick around for four days. Randy told me to go to Prince Edward Island. I was thinking about Canada anyway, like Niagara Falls or something like Halifax or Newfoundland. Martha told me to go to Martha's Vineyard or Niagara Falls. Linda told me Niagara Falls but also said she'd want to do that too. So I decided to do everything that followed the trajectory toward PEI. So I set off for a four day journey in my Beetle. I still needed an oil change and some aesthetic features of the car needed fixing as well.

But since I kept thinking about the journey and I wanted to keep it spontaneous, I decided not to think about any possibilities until I left. It actually wasn't until 5 hrs before I left when I found out Randy told me to go to PEI. I seriously thought I was heading toward Niagara or going south instead.

And I always try something new, so I decided that this time I would give myself only 10 minutes to pack (both physically and mentally). I could not allow myself to plan out what I needed and I could not put things in a bag until the countdown. I only charged certain electronics, but otherwise, everything was where I normally leave it. I took the stop watch, took a picture to show the time and started.

I almost forgot my passport and only remembered it because I saw it at eye level in the bookcase when I started packing the toiletries bag. I actually packed too much clothes, but at least I had clothes considering 10 minutes to pack is a lot quicker than you think. Makes me wonder what I would take if I ever had a fire drill at home.
