Where I stayed
We woke up early again. And 7 am is early for me, remember. We got breakfast and checked out and then headed off to the bus station to drop off our backpacks and for me to pay for my ticket to Florianopolis in Brasil - where I'm headed off to next.
When we got to the falls on the public bus, we were able to beat the lines and the tours off toward the falls and got to the place that we saw yesterday - la garganta del diablo. But instead of being in the middle of the falls and seeing everything like that, we were seeing it from the top. We could not see down to where we were yesterday, it was so thick and so much power from the falls.
The Argentinian side was so much more grandesque than the Brazilian side. We did everything over there in 2 hrs over there, but there were at least 8 more km of trails on Argentina plus there's a large set of falls that you can't see from the Brazilian side. So much worth it to see from both really. A lot of other kids at the hostel went and saw the falls up close with a boat ride for an extra 45 Arg pesos, but we decided that going to Brazil was pretty close as it is and didn't need to do it.
It was a lot of walking and we easily spent more time, but we had to get back for Erik's 430 pm bus back to Buenos Aires. We went quickly and saw everything, but honestly, once you see so much of the cataratas, you can't be as awestruck as the first time so we didn't need to spend all that time watching every single falls. In that way, I'm glad we did it in that order. It was really beautiful to be able to see the panorama of all fourteen falls there.
It was sad leaving Erik actually since we'd been travelling since Wed pretty much and I usually don't travel long with other people since it's hard to tolerate some backpackers and travel with them. But we had a grand time and I'm off to Brazil for about a week and I'll spend time in great time with great beaches even though it's winter. The weather this far north is gorgeous. Not too humid, no mosquitoes and just about high 80s. Perfect getaway actually. But I fear going back to Buenos Aires temperatures where it's going to be back in the 50s and cloudy and rainy. Although Bs As is grand in culture. áta Brasil!
