After researching tickets for various countries and weighing options for future journeys, I decided that 20 days is best for a region which is fairly compact, diverse, cheap and will have reasonable weather. With little time available (3 weeks, right?), I figured I'll save some of the more difficult journeys for later. Plus the pesky monsoon season lost out to the huge factor which is the expiration date on my Brazil visa.
After a trip to Borders and lonelyplanet.com, here's what looks appetizing:
-Buenos Aires
-Patagonia (El Calafate)
-Pantanal region in Brazil (Campo Grande)
-Cataratas de Iguazu
-Valparaiso, Chile
-Florianopolis, Brazil
While Samantha Brown and 5takes will give me some extra information on the region, I could always use a few suggestions on what to do or what stupid boy project I'll take on while I'm travelling (previous excursions included dice, spontaneous decision making or having third parties back home decide the itinerary). So let me know how I shall proceed. I'll need an enjoyable and unforgettable holiday after finishing up comps.
