Went to Senso-Ji Temple (yes I have pictures) that story is after searching for camera shop, they tried to sell me a 2G SD card for $256.00. Well after I went on about USA and Walmart I got out of there for $120.00. Zack would not stand by me with this exchange of broken communication. I believe he sold it to me to get me out of his store. Back to Temple. The legend is that 2 fishermen fished Kannon, the Goddess of Compassion out of the sea in AD 628. Then built this Temple to house the shrine.
Things were going on we understood and some we did not. There was a large incense cauldron in front and people were taking the smoke and rubbing it on themselves, some just moving the smoke toward them with their hands. This was to bestow health. Also a large water area, some were pouring it over their hands and arms, some drinking it. Then they would enter temple, stand in front of shrine, toss money in through a large grate in the floor and then pray. Other things I couldn't figure out, like these boxes with notes, people would pull them out, read them and then tie them around wire along with others. Maybe some of you know? Also shrines that flowers are placed on daily were in the gardens. Some were to animals, others to babies, some I could not tell. I will ask Yujiro when we meet Sat.
Also walked in market today, crowded as expected. It is 6:33pm Friday here and 4:33am Friday morning in Wilmington.
Beverly and Zachary
We have figured out subway, trains, money (well Zack has). And have returned to our room with KFC chicken. Earlier I bought what I thought was rice cakes at market, Blah = they were Soy cakes with spices. Give me Rice Krispy cakes - OK. Also went to Zoo to see famous Ling-Ling, would love to show that to you ,but memory empty in camera???. I will tell you she laid on her back and only lifted her head rarely, she was as hot as I was.
