Good afternoon! I just uploaded all the photos we took this weekend. I will come back and write more about it next time. Andrew had to go to work early this morning so I slept late, had a nice breakfast (made-to-order omelet at the buffet) here at the Hilton, then uploaded these photos. I'm hoping Andrew is able to come back from work early today since he had to get up so early this morning. I'm thinking about going out to the swimming pool for a while after I eat lunch.

Andrew was off work Saturday, so we had a quick continental breakfast and set off for a day of sightseeing. We went to Wailua Falls first. We drove up, and looked at it from an overlook. We could see a couple on the rock beach by the water below the falls. It looked nice, but it would be quite a long hike down there ... you cannot take any trail from the lookout sight above ... everything is blocked off and has many warnings. We jumped back in the car and travelled down the coast ... we had decided to go from the East Coast of Kauai, where the Hilton is, down to the South Coast our first day together so we could drive up to Waimea Canyon, then see the view of the Na Pali Coast and hike a bit. We did stop at a few places along the way ... our second stop was at Spouting Horn. The weather has been beautiful the whole time we've been here. Andrew says it's been much more clear than when he was here the November before last. We took several photos at Spouting Horn ... make sure you look at our attached photo album to see more! After that, we drove over to the Sheraton and had lunch at their restaurant on an outside terrace right on the ocean. It was gorgeous! We had heard it was a great place to watch the sunset, but we were a little early! We called home and talked to our four kids who are staying with grandma and grandpa, then we set off again. (I took videos, but haven't uploaded those yet.)

Next we drove up to Waimea Canyon. The road was a bit windy for me ... next time I will take some Dramamine! But it was a great view of course, so worth the drive. Finally, we arrived at the top of the world! The photos just do not do it justice, I'm sorry to say! These are taken from the overlook, and then on the trail that you can take from there. We only went about 1 mile down the trail and then came back. The sun is definitely very hot and strong here ... and we keep forgetting the sunscreen (or, leaving it in the car. Somehow it does not make its way into the backpack!). After walking the trail, it was very hot, so we drove down to a lower lookout and I changed into a tank top. Much better! Here is one of the few photos of both of us at the same time (thanks to a friendly tourist!).

Well, I will add more to this later ....
