Thus far we have had an amazing time here in Venice. Later today we leave for an overnight cruise to Dubrovnik. Venice has been wonderful. We have wandered around the alleyways and squares and gotten lost, found ourselves, and gotten lost again. It has been great fun. We really enjoyed the Doge's Palace, which on my previous trips, had been closed for renovation. Entry allows you to walk through the Bridge of Sighs which allowed for a much different perspective. Yesterday we got up early and went for a nice long run along the waterfront and watched the city wake up. The weather has been beautiful, with just the occasional shower, but with excellent temperatures.
Travel to Venice was pretty easy. Everyone got here without mishap and on time and we are all now aboard the cruise ship -- the Princess Star. It has been a great start to the trip.
