Where I stayed
We lost an hour of the day but that didn't matter. Sunny and 75F today in Key West. We enjoyed coffee and breakfast poolside, Bill got a short swim, and Teresa noticed that Earnest Hemingway's house was to be dedicated as a national literary landmark this afternoon. Dropped the car off and went to Sarabeth's for brunch -- ALWAYS A GREAT CHOICE -- and walked up to the presentation.
In the shade of the large trees in front of the great author's home we were invited public representatives of yet another acknowledgment of what Hemingway's greatness inspires in past and contemporary writers. His memorabilia was for all to see, and author Les Standiford read from the prologue of his book Last Train to Paradise. We visited the cats and made our way around the event as if we were locals.
This afternoon we are lounging by the pool on this absolutely picture postcard day. In fact I need to stop writing since I am getting sunburned and it is almost happy hour. Tapas may be the fare for dinner this evening.
