A morning walk started just before 7am along the beach but in the other or northerly direction this time.

Besides me, just after sunrise were out and about the early morning beach cleaners, walkers, joggers, surfers, fishermen, crew dismantling a stage, security guards at the resort beach side entrances, beach boys putting out their rentable sun loungers, dogs and even a rider on his horse. The surf was a bit bigger this morning and the crashing sound of the waves were certainly much louder.

How far will I get to?

This part of the coast line is less developed but I can see in no time more resorts springing up in the vacant lots. Yes, it is a bit more dirtier with rubbish but still nice to have that fresh sea air and sand in between ones toes.

Got as far as Jalan Pura Kaya Putih in Canggu and from here the distant airport with the planes continually taking off look so much further away than yesterday.

Back by 9 am having breakfast where the restaurant manager thought that I was from Jakarta. He is the third Indonesian on this trip who thought that I had come from Jakarta.

Time to leave Amadea Resort & Villas.

Hearing fellow travellers stories about the really bad traffic jams, even here in this part of Bali, it was recommended by the hotel staff to allow 60 - 90 minutes and 100,000 Rp for the taxi fare to get to the airport which is not really that far away having walked to its perimeter fence yesterday. The road gods must have been on my side as the journey took less than 30 minutes and cost only 55,000 Rp.

I am glad that they are building a new combined domestic and international terminal right now. It was a long walk from the drop off zone to the very old non air conditioned domestic terminal. Paid the 40,000 Rp airport domestic departure tax and wondered if I have to pay the 150,000 international one in Jakarta like one does if leaving from here in Denpasar? How much Rp would I have left?

Being early, I asked for a window seat and was offered one in the emergency row (longer leg room) which I gladly took for short the 1 hour 20 minute flight into Jakarta. Plus the check in guy put without asking a priority tag on my checked in bag but did it come out first? No, one of the last! It didn't matter as there would be a 4 hour wait here till my 8.30 pm departure for the overnight 6 hour flight Sydney, Australia, then another short flight home.
