The children attend school in the morning and then perform in the afternoon as part of retaining their culture.
1. Wooden Puppet (Wayang Golek) Demonstration
The Sudanese art performance shows a drama performed by wooden puppets. The word wayang means shadow. I was glad that we did not have to sit through the traditional 7 + hour performance!
2. Helaran
Helaran is often played in circumcision celebration and harvest season. In these occasions the Angklung used is the ones with Salendro notes - Da, Mi, Na, Ti, La and Da. Helaran itself is played in cheerful tone because it is played to entertain people and to thank God who blesses us daily with all his gifts.
3. Traditional Dances
Mask Dance First act with no mask’’ then with the mask. The mask represents human character. Menakjingga with red coloured mask represenrs aggressive, temperamental and impatient behaviour.

Traditional musical instrument.
6. Mini Angklung
Not only used as an ornament but simple tunes can be played.

It was well done. Each part was long enough without over doing it.
The best bit was certainly the interaction by the audience and each of us playing our own angklung.
I was surprised that hundreds of us were in tune. The 90 minutes passed by very quickly.
The entry ticket hung around our neck became our souvenir - a tiny miniature angklung.
Dinner back at Golden Duck. Yes, a few of us were surprised that there was nothing else near by to try. Anyway the manager was back in attendance and our bill was quickly and correctly presented to each of us. Hainames Special Chicken and Duck plus another refreshing lime juice: 37,800 Rp + 10,800 Rp = 53 Rp (NZ $7 or US $5).
