Where I stayed
Hotel Victory Galou
Today we slept in and at 9.20am watched the Rugby World Cup quarterfinal which France beat England 19-12. After that we caught the metro to Parc des Buttes Chaumont but had done enough walking already so just had a quick look at the park and then caught the metro to Anvers. We then had lunch at a nearby cafe (salmon on toast and banana and nutella crepes and coffe).
After brunch we walked up to the Basilique Sacre Couer and took some photos from the top. It was a Sunday so there were performers and lots of people around as well as a market selling all sorts of food, cheeses and wines. We continued walking and walked right down to Moulin Rouge which we quickly took a photo of and then got on the metro again.
From here we caught the metro back to Champs Elysees and looked at the shops on the other side of the road that we hadn't seen yesterday. We walked right to Place de Madeleine where we were going to catch an open-top sightseeing bus around the city but we got there too late and they were already finished for the day.
So we caught the metro to Paris Royal-Musee Louvre and had tea at Ristorante Bordeaux (roast salmon, beef bourguignon stew, escargots, 2wines, 2coffees, tiramisu and sorbet). We then caught the metro back to our hotel.
The dessert of Tiramisu was the best Rosanna had ever tasted - Devine! Exhausted after a big day with lots of walking, we watched some TV but it was all in French and we got sick of it so went to sleep.
