Where I stayed
Twiga campsite was recommended to us by some guys we met at Jungle Junction and I have to say it is a great little spot on the coast. We literally set up camp under some trees on the beach. It was hot and humid, but such a good life. In the morning one of the locals would come past with a basket of fruit, where you could have your pick of fresh mango's, pineapple, bananas, pawpaw and also some vegetables. Later someone would come around and bring you the local newspaper and afterwords someone else would come along to take your order of a choice of fresh prawns, fish, crayfish or calamari you may want to grill for supper, so Bruce decided to organize some wood to be dropped off and we had a braai on the beach that night. It was an awesome full moon night. We met quite a few Germans, a Swiss guys and Italian there, that joined us for a few beers round the fire. Great night.
All I can say is we had a great time and for anyone planning on doing a trip it's definitely worth popping into Tiwi. We also popped into Diani beach about 10km further south and found a great bar on the water’s edge. Bruce was especially happy, as there were two big flat screens showing the cricket on one and the Super 12 rugby on the other screen. Needless to say we spent almost all day relaxing there.
