Mary Ellen and Diane are back in Rome after their trip to Sorrento, Capri, and Pompeii. I've uploaded a few pictures including one taken inside the blue grotto, and two looking down from their hotel to the sea. That narrow pavement that looks like a bike path is actually used by not only cars but also busses... hope that railing is strong!

Our walk yesterday took Paula and I thru the market in Campo D'Fiori, into the baroque Gesu church, to the top of the Victor Emmanuel monument for an overview of the city, and then a walk through the Roman ruins on the Capitoline hill.

grazie
Thank you for the wonderful updates and pictures of all your adventures.
Was glad to see the Blue Grotto was not very crowded. Did the boatman sing Italian love songs? The sound in the grotto is amazing not to mention the colors. Try to have some of those baby zuccini and their flowers at a restaurant. Somtimes they will prepare them in a rissotto.

Greetings From Ray
Dear Aunt Mary Ellen,

It is wonderful to see you in such amazing surroundings. Now you really can say : 'A funny thing happened to me on the way to the Forum'!

If you go back to the Vatican I wonder if you might get a picture of one of the swiss guards for me. Even though those guys look like they are wearing their Pajamas I understand they're very tough hombres.

I hope the rest of your trip goes well, remember to ask for catsup for your steak only if the waiter is French (it drives them crazy!) and please get plenty of pictures! Till next time. I remain....

Your Humble Correspondent and Nephew,

Ray

Saluti da Hoboken!
Il giglio ed io stanno godendo le storia e le immagini dal vostro viaggio. Dica 'ciao 'al papa per noi se ottenete una probabilità vederlo. Avete mancato ieri la NEVE a New York City! Greg e giglio
