Cassiar Mountain Jade Store

So it rained during the night at the rest area, and was snowing lightly when we got up, 37 degrees out.  Sleet & snow, rough roads over Gnat's Pass Summit, a half mile of muddy gravel road around a downhill hairpin turn with drop offs (can you tell I'm not liking this day?).  The Cassiar Hwy is very rough and narrow now, one lane wood bridges (that say slippery when wet...well, when aren't they wet up here?)  Couldn't see any scenery, it was socked in, but you couldn't look anyway cause of the rough road, so just as well.  Spent the night in the parking lot of the jade jewelry store (they advertised free overnight RV parking, so....) and I escaped with buying only one pair of jade earrings (so much for free overnight parking). The Cassiar Mountains are suppose to be where 90% of the world's jade supply comes from.  There's much gold mining in the Cassiar Mountains as well, they say.
