Well, there is nothing better than starting off your junior year with a trip the Paradise Island in the Bahamas. I have had a great time for the last couple of days. We first arrived at the airport in Nassau and found ourselves in a jungle of bags searching for hours. It took us an hour and a half to find Ryan's bag, but we eventually found it underneath a heap of other luggage.
We finally arrived at the beautiful Atlantis resort (This place was amazing). We had a quick dinner and then I decided to go to the casino, within 30 minutes I lost $30. I've had better casino experiences, but it was still fun. The next day we met Sarah, Mandy, and Turner. They are really chill and will probably be good friends with us on the boat. Ryan, Corrie, Andy, Claire, and I hung out with them at the pool and went down these huge "water world type" slides. Two of the slides go straight through the shark tank which was sweet.
Later on in the evening we went to senior frogs because there must have been 50 people from semester at sea going. We arrived with a relatively quiet atmosphere so we ordered our dinner, but that changed in time. In about 30 minutes the place filled up and I was entered in a funky white boy dance. So, I get on top of the stage and the DJ says, "Let's see what you got!" There are five us up on the bar, but no one could compete with me, so I won the dance contest and scored my self a free drink. It was a great night of partying with old and new friends.
After frog's we went back to the hotel and decided to go swimming in the ocean. I had a blast, but unfortunately Ryan got stung by a jelly fish ... tragic. The funniest thing about it is that the next day Ryan was stung by another jelly fish in the lagoon where there is supposed to be no sea life. (He even peed on his hand to neutralize the sting).
Now we are on the boat and all settled into our new room. It is literally the first room right next to the entrance of the ship. There are three rooms on our hallway wing, so we do feel a little secluded, but I think that we'll be able to socialize plenty. We are on our way to Venezuela, and I just saw the most beautiful sunset in my life. I'll write back in a week or so ... I miss you all!
